Controls Programmer

Job Description: ​​ ​​Controls Programmers are experts at HVAC automation. They setup controllers to monitor data and code logic to help automate and optimize our customer's systems. Like Controls Technicians, Programmers have field duties but focus more on coding and user interfaces. Responsibilities:

  • Manage, update, review and respond to alerts and alarms
  • Review and update control programs and operator interfaces for existing sites
  • Develop control programs and operator interfaces for new projects
  • Visit sites for repair work on network communication devices
  • Visit sites for testing of control systems with field technicians
  • Create and modify control diagrams in Visio
  • Fabricate new control panels in the controls shop
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent
  • 2 to 4 years in technical program and/or equivalent experience in Controls and HVAC service
  • HVAC & central plant system controls by either Tridium, Easy Io, ALC, Delta, Johnson Controls, Siemens, or Honeywell
  • IP and BACnet networking
  • Low voltage wiring
  • Logic programming and control diagrams
  • Starting up and testing of control systems

Controls Technician

Job Description: ​​ A Controls Technician spends most of their time in the field. They are experienced with programming controls software, but have an emphasis on setting up and troubleshooting both controls and HVAC hardware. Responsibilities:

  • Startup, testing, commissioning and servicing controls projects
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and program control systems
  • Receive and run controls service calls and PM tasks for controls with minimal assistance
  • Provide training to customer on controls systems as directed
  • Complete documentation, including but not limited to, timesheets, expense reports and service reports
  • Conduct general tasks including, but not limited to, safety training, group meetings and maintaining tools and vehicle (if applicable)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent
  • HVAC service and Controls experience preferred
  • Experience with installation, service, or maintenance of controls systems
  • 2 to 4 years in technical program and/or equivalent experience in Controls and HVAC service
  • Knowledge of HVAC and electrical systems. Basic mathematical abilities in all units of measure. Read blueprints and technical schematics as well as specification manuals.

Job Description: A Project Manager or Engineer is an expert at organizing and planning HVAC projects. From acquiring a bid or sale, to maintaining customer relations, to overseeing a project's completion; a Project Manager/Engineer uses his leadership, planning, and technical abilities to lead successful operations. Responsibilities:

  • Plan, organize and control all resources for the successful execution of a project
  • Lead project teams in the construction of projects ensuring project quality, schedule, budget, safety and exceptional client experience goals are met
  • Be the primary point of contact for owners
  • Negotiate contract agreements with clients, subcontractors and suppliers
  • Manage schedules, change orders, RFI and submittal process

Service Technician

Job Description: A Service Technician is the backbone of maintenance operations. They spend most of their time out in the field, providing maintenance, installing or retrofitting HVAC systems, and responding to service requests in a timely manner. Responsibilities:

Job Description: A pipefitter is a tradesperson who installs, assembles, fabricates, maintains and repairs mechanical piping systems. Pipefitters usually begin as helpers or apprentices. Journeyman pipefitters deal with industrial/commercial/marine piping and heating/cooling systems. Job Responsibilities:

  • Use appropriate hand (i.e. wrap around) and power tools (i.e. grinders) to fit and install all types of pipe and/or similar tubular products
  • Have working knowledge of all types of pipe and piping systems, including butt welded, socket welded, threaded, Victaulic, grooved, glued and fused joints
  • Be able to work with carbon steel, stainless steel, PVC, poly, copper, and various high pressure/temperature alloys
  • Proficient in the use of bevellers, threaders and other end prep machines
  • Cut or drill holes in walls to permit passage of pipes
  • Select specified type and size of pipe
  • Mount pipe hangers and brackets on walls and ceilings to hold pipe
  • Install valves, couplings and other fittings
  • Disassemble and remove damaged or worn pipe
  • Erect necessary scaffolding
  • Lift, position and secure materials and work pieces during installation and install all other items in accordance with the applicable plans and specifications
  • Preferred candidates will have 3-5 years verifiable pipe fitting experience
  • Must be able to perform job tasks without direct supervision, have positive attitude and communicate effectively
  • Strong mechanical background a plus

Sheet Metal Worker

Main Job Functions/Requirements:

  • Execution of mechanical projects including the installation, change-out, upgrade, and maintenance of all type of commercial and industrial HVAC systems, components, and assemblies. This may include hydronic, chilled water systems, DX, forced air, heat pump, VAV, Constant Volume, Exhaust, Heat Recovery, Sheet Metal Ducting, building automation controls and various related mechanical systems)
  • Wire both line and low voltage to heating and cooling equipment
  • Install copper refrigerant lines to air conditioning units, including soldering and brazing.
  • Install sheet metal and flex duct systems in commercial buildings
  • Properly connect gas lines to heating equipment
  • Work safely following company policies
  • Managing and/or contributing to project on-time and on-budget performance.

Warehouse Purchasing Lead

Job Description:

Warehouse Purchasing Leads are responsible for all day-to-day activities of warehouse tools and equipment. Leads work closely with service techs, drivers, and projects managers in order to deliver materials to job sites. They handle all shipping & receiving all equipment, raw materials, inventory checks, efficiently store materials, track all shop equipment, and ensure equipment is checked in & out in a timely manner. They are also expected to purchase supplies and ensure that warehouse essential items are in stock.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate and report all activities with upper management regarding operations and shipments coming in and out of warehouse facility and assist management when needed
  • Manage all warehouse activities and workflow, communicate with project managers and other departments to ensure accurate deliveries and equipment are on scheduled for delivery
  • Prioritize all shipments and deliveries and interact with project managers, inner office personal by phone, text or email to verify and assist all ACS employees in completing tasks as requested by the warehouse manager\
  • Purchase and order supplies as needed for jobs and warehouse operation
  • Responsible for receiving UPS, FED Ex, and freight shipment, verify parts and equipment are matching PO and properly checked in & out, and verify all equipment is accurate and matching inventory
  • Pull and prepare equipment/materials, packing boxes, palletize material, and secure equipment in staging area for delivery or pick up
  • Verify all equipment or materials are pulled in a timely manner and stored in its designated area and labeled with job information ready for pic-up or delivery
  • Maintain warehouse and building equipment and cleanliness
  • Inspect warehouse equipment and building is in good condition and safe and security system is functioning and maintained and planning new layouts for storage
  • Monitor & prioritize inbound and outbound by checking job(s) number(s) and/or POs are accurate
  • Verify all parts match packing list and checking for any damages to equipment and noted on BOL and properly staged in warehouse
  • Maintain control of all physical inventory, parts count/s and all equipment and material and entering into storage inventory system
  • Maintain all safety equipment is in stock and verifying all equipment is properly labeled for use and to meet OSHA standards, maintain and store quantities of all hazardous materials within OSHA and city standards
  • Manage and delegate all pick-ups & deliveries with driver/s and managing and getting approval for all extra cost/s, overtime or purchasing extra equipment when needed for job sites
  • Plan new layouts for storage and setting all raw materials or equipment for schedule to be delivered at job site and verify correct job number, delivery address with project manager.
  • Drive forklift, load, and unload company truck/s or vehicles
  • Setup equipment daily for projects for pick or delivery and following all ACS truck safety procedures
  • Perform all job duties in a safe manner by obeying all company driving rules and regulations, road signs, and company safety policies and procedures.

CAD Designer

Air Conditioning Solutions is a mechanical technology company that services and installs energy-saving central plants, chillers, and other HVAC equipment in Southern California. We are looking for a CAD Designer who can produce drawings quickly, and who can perform administrative support of construction projects.


  • Work quickly and accurately in AUTOCAD to draw mechanical HVAC construction drawings.
  • Communicate with other trades such as structural and electrical to coordinate and to prevent jobsite mistakes.
  • Prepare construction documentation for the field so that they have specific instructions on how to proceed on projects.
  • Assist the Project Managers with the administrative portion of projects, which includes but is not limited to, construction close-out documents and submittal preparation.
  • REVIT and BIM experience is a plus, but not required.
  • Work in an innovative and fast-paced environment, at times with limited guidance.
  • Work additional hours to meet deadlines in order to maintain a positive customer experience.
